Fuck Robots, Man has Created His Own Universe!

Wee Bang

I am very into quantum physics right now. Not sure why. I think mostly because I find it mind-bogglingly difficult to understand the specifics, but the implications are phenomenal to work your head around. It's like a spectrum of understanding in our minds: the further apart that science and philosophy get from one another, the closer they appear. That whole "being" issue and all.

Anyways...so I just found out that they created a mini Big Bang. Basically by doing it in reverse to get some hot quarks or something. Not sure what it means, but the concept is terrifying and awe-inspiring at once.

Whoa. It's like, the universe and stuff, maaaaan.

That's a very confusing article. My head doesn't comprehend...

Ah Ha! Physics and philosophy are the same thing. Logic! If A then B, if B then C, /:. if A then C. That's logic - it's also math with words. Physics is the physical application of math.

Philosophy is a bunch of people, myself included, trying to make arguments about the world as logical and true as the above equation. If I can make an argument for 'what's right' that is as logically sound as a mathmatical equation then I will have succeeded.

Conversely, physics is doing the same thing: a theory for the beginning of the universe must line up with 'cogito ergo sum' (because if it doesn't, the physicists don't even know that they exist!)

but that's the point! The closer they get to figuring it out, the more physics becomes similar to religion: based on faith in a preconceived set of rules. Because they cannot be verified and, in fact, CANNOT know that they exist for sure! They can only THEORIZE. That's why it's the "theory" of relativity rather than the "fact" of relativity.

Wow. This is a neato conversation, lol.
